How Kinesiology Works

Jan 29, 2025

When you next catch your reflection in the mirror, you'll see... yourself.

Of course. Raise your eyebrows a few times and say "Hey good lookin!"

If you were to lean right in, you'd get a close up view of your eyes.

If you had a microscope you'd be able to see the layers or nerve cells that make up your eye.

If you zoom in closer you'd see that those cells are made of atoms.

And if you could zoom all the way in you would see that those atoms are then subatomic particles which are made entirely of electricity.

We know that our physical body is the sum of our bones, muscles, organs and systems.

It's common wisdom that our bodies' systems run on electricity, like our cardiovascular system. Likely, we've even met someone who has a pacemaker which runs an electrical current to support the electrical rhythm of their heart.

But less people talk about the electrical systems that supply all of our other organs like our kidneys and our liver. Or the electricity generated by our bones when we take a single step. Or the electricity generated by our connecting tissue when we do so little as breathe.

Perhaps even fewer talk about the electrical systems that power the inner most of every single cell and the fact that our cells talk to each other using electricity called cellular signalling.

The very act of being alive and moving literally generates electricity which recycles within us to power us on a molecular level.

These highways (big and small) of voltage run through every fibre of our being and are how we stay alive. This is no longer relegated to "woo woo", we can measure this electricity and doctors even use it regularly in their offices to heal broken bones.

This is how Kinesiology works in the body.

Imagine your body like a switchboard of electrical circuits with little rivers and big rivers of voltage running in every direction to keep life force moving from your head to your toes. Just like any circuit, when there is a cross section with too much voltage, the circuit trips and electricity can't get through to the rest of the circuit. Likewise, when there are pathways with not enough voltage coming through, the organs connected to that line (imagine them like lightbulbs) won't get powered on.

We know this and it has been backed by science over and over again.

The question is of course:

What practical actions do we take? What do we DO with this knowledge, otherwise it's just lost in a sea of information.

One answer:

Find where your circuits are not functioning. Kinesiology does this by testing a muscle connected to that circuit to see how much voltage is coming through it. Is there too much? Is there not enough?

Then comes my favourite bit:

Why? What is creating a gap in the flow of electricity? What needs to be removed or added in for the voltage to power through to the rest of the circuit.

It's often:

  • A trapped emotion: Yes, they have a measurable voltage too
  • A trapped thoughtform or memory: Isn't it so wild to think that these can be cleared or repaired back into balance... they can.
  • Behaviour related: As in we need to change something in the way we are living by creating a new habit, getting rid of an old one that is zapping us, changing a job or a relationship
  • Space related: We could be triggered by clutter in the room, mould under the carpets or even the colour of the walls
  • Nutrition related: An allergy that needs to be removed from our diet or a supplement that needs to go in

The other things I've loved most about kinesiology:

  • It removes the "one size fits all" approach. I once had a naturopath prescribe licorice to heal my gut because it was commonly used for that. After months of bloating and the discovery of kinesiology I found that it was doing the opposite for me and we found something that specifically supported what my circuits wanted. It was not the common remedy but it worked.
  • It removes the guesswork. I spent a few decades and more than a few thousand dollars in and out of clinicians offices saying, "I'll do anything to fix this, I just need to know what to do"... then I found kinesiology and I finally had a language to speak with and understand what my body was telling me

Kinesiology is quite simply a scientifically backed method of talking to the body.

We check where voltage is flowing and where it isn't.

We find what the body wants in order to make that electricity move in a balanced way again.

We do it.

We check the changes and reinforce with homework and changes in our lifestyle where needed.

Simple, and life changing.
